Rivers of Life Community Church was birthed into Pastors Travis and Melissa's heart March 2002. After much prayer and seeking the Lord, they were led to start ROLCC. They were determined to fulfill the call of God on their lives in Granite City and to present the gospel of Jesus Christ in a clear Biblical way to this community and surrounding areas. Knowing that the Lord had equipped them with the necessary tools to love and help people to find their way to a life of salvation, joy and victory in Jesus Christ~Rivers of Life was Born.
On July 23rd, 2002 Rivers of Life Community church had their first service at the Ramada Inn on Route 111 with 13 people. After a short time of experiencing God's outpouring in the Ramada Inn, the church moved to a building on Maryville Road. The Lord blessed and the church grew. On Easter Sunday 2003, the Lord led us to the property at 990 Wanda Road in Granite City. We were able to purchase this property with a wonderful church building and five acres of land~Praise the Lord!
This land has Great Vision for it! It will house a new church building and the field at present will provide space for some of our school's athletics: soccer and baseball. This land is ready for such a time as this to spread the gospel of Jesus Christ.
We have been blessed to purchase 3 more aches of land with a 12,200 square foot facility. This facility will house Rivers of Life Christian School that has been ministering over in St. Louis, MO. We are excited about moving the school over here to Illinois and reaching out to this community. We are getting ready to break ground on a new gym/multi-purpose facility that will connect to our school. It will be another facility of over 10,000 square feet! God is blessing and doing MIGHTY things here at the River!
With the help of the Lord, ROLCC is one of the fastest growing Multicultural churches in Granite City, IL. Come and experience the outpouring for yourself!
Please check the website under VISION: BUILDING PROJECT for updates on the our exciting growth! God is Great: SOMETHING GREAT IN 2008!
